Overview:  Support to the set up of the Defence Support Group, following merger of the former ABRO and DARA Trading Funds.  

Headlines: Working with the Executive Board, Wallace Walker facilitated the preparation of the first 5-year corporate strategic plan and business plans for the newly formed DSG, including a comprehensive strategic market assessment and a capability and capacity review.  Our work also involved a root cause analysis on the unexpected deterioration in financial performance of the ABRO business in FY07/08.  All aspects of the organisation's performance and its effectiveness were analysed, with findings and recommendations produced for the Board.

Technical capabilities provided: Strategic market analysis / Strategic and business planning / Effectiveness and performance studies / Facilitation and senior management development.

Duration: Oct 07 – May 08 (10 months).

Measure of success: DSG successfully launched on 1 April 08.  The findings and recommendations from the root cause analysis were approved by the Board and built into a transformation programme.  Performance for FY08/09 significantly improved, with all Key Targets achieved.  Wallace Walker was re-contracted to support the first update of the corporate strategic plan in Oct 08.
